Our mission is repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives.Summary of PositionA well-run rebuilding project requires a lot of planning and skill behind the scenes to ensure that clients, volunteers, and others come together to have an impactful, uplifting project day. The AmeriCorps Project Coordinator manages rebuilding projects from start to finish, beginning with the initial visit to assess the client's home repair needs, through the completion of the workscope and final project evaluation. They will coordinate with clients, skilled volunteers, community partners, vendors, inspectors, and staff to develop and implement sustainable and effective project logistics practices. The AmeriCorps Project Coordinator will support technicians in preparation for Safe-at-Home projects and build skills to lead a project on Rebuilding Day. This position is a great opportunity for someone who likes every day to be different and seeks experience in nonprofit project coordination.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communication between clients, staff, House Captains, and contractors.
  • Meet with clients to complete home assessments and develop a work scope and materials list.
  • Arrange purchase and delivery of crucial project needs for Build Projects.
  • Support technicians with the preparation and execution of Safe-at-Home projects.
  • Provide support with hands-on repairs.
  • Train to become a House Captain leader to support volunteer groups.
  • Support in the recruitment of House Captains and skilled-trades volunteers.
  • Obtain necessary permits, inspections, and other approvals to begin work.
  • Evaluate productivity against the work scope and ensure quality and completion of work.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequired
    • Comfort with speaking and presenting in front of large groups.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of internet.
    • Ability to function in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with a diverse community and staff.Preferred
      • Bachelor's Degree or relevant life/work experience.
      • Experience with database, inventory, and barcoding systems.
      • Solid interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work with diverse clients, volunteers, and staff.
      • Volunteer service experience.Description of Physical Demands
        • Must be able to navigate an active construction site.
        • Majority of time will be spent in the office; must be able to use a computer and phone.
        • Must be able to lift 20 pounds regularly.
        • Must be able to travel independently to meetings.
        • Must be able to assist with rebuilding days.Other Requirements
          • Access to reliable transportation for daily commute.
          • Use of a personal vehicle is recommended.
          • Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria.
          • Comply with AmeriCorps Prohibited Activities.Commitment Required
            • Spring 2025 Cohort: Can start between June 1-30, 2025.
            • Term types available: full-time, part-time, quarter-time.
            • Typical service week is Monday-Friday; attendance at weekend events may be required.Program Benefits
